Call me Pops1
Today I will become a grandpa.
At least that's the plan. Our daughter is going to be induced this morning. Bobbi is already down in Atlanta with Jessica and her husband Josh, and I don't need to tell you how the conversation went when we were deciding which one of us would head down early, and who would stay home with our other kids (and dogs). Grandma wins.
At Thanksgiving I should (Lord willing) get my first chance to hold our new grandchild, and consider how lucky I will be to love Josie, and to support our kids, her parents. If you have any grandparenting tips, I would love to hear them.
Cathy Davis' blog from last week got me thinking. I have so much to be thankful for this year -- the people of Hopevale, the staff team I get to serve and lead, and (especially) my family. Which will be bigger by one person...
Most of all, I'm thinking today about how awesome it is to be part of God's family. He is our perfect Father. What a privilege, to know and follow Jesus.
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called
children of God! And that is what we are! 1 John 3:1-3
So stay tuned, and say a prayer. I'll let you know when you can officially call Bobbi "Mimi." And you can call me "Pops."
