His Life, His Love
So I'm sitting in church this past Sunday, and as Pastor Ken is talking I'm wondering: is confidence like that really possible?
"By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear." 1 John 4:17-18 ESV
His love is perfected in me? Really? If that verse is true (which it is), then that changes everything. It's his love, not mine. it's perfected in me. It's his life, his love, in me.
And that's not just true for the day of judgment, it's also true today, "in this world." I can approach my heavenly Father with confidence, even when my life is full of chaos. Wow.
