Should I?

Please, I’m begging you, stop with all the ‘New Year, New You’ advice. It’s overwhelming. Do this! Stop doing that! Eat more this! Eat less that! Move more, rest more, read more. I get it. Apparently, I was a loser in 2019 and it’s time to pull myself together.

Here’s the deal: I hate it when people tell me what to do (shocker). If I come to my own conclusion about a new habit, or changing things up, then I’m good. But if someone on the internet or TV is blaring out orders, I’m out. They don’t even know me; I can’t trust their advice. But what about God? Or church? If there is a nudge to change – from them - would I consider it? That feels different. How? First, I know that God wants to give me an abundant Life (John 10:10). That sounds good. And, Hopevale is all about inviting me and you to know and follow God more fully. I want that too. So, what if these voices that love me and wanted my best were calling me to more, to better?

This is how I ended up taking LifeSigns. I knew that God was in it, so I trusted it. What’s LifeSigns? LifeSigns is about two conversations - one with God, one with a trusted friend.  Done honestly, those conversations could change my life.

Listen up, friend. I know everyone is telling us what to do, what New Year’s resolutions to adopt. But even as an initial ‘stop ordering me around’ girl, I am now in on LifeSigns. I have nothing to lose and everything to gain. God has big plans for me and for you. Up for taking a little risk and hearing Him out? I am!
