Communion Sunday & Pastor Matt Farewell Service

April 24, 2016 Speaker: Dan Davis Series: Sermon Singles

Topic: Sunday Message Verse: Psalm 130:1–130:4, Romans 5:1–5:2

Communion

A special time of worship through communion and singing praises to our God. We also say farewell to Pastor Matt & his family.

Psalm 130:1-4 NIV

1 Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord; 2 Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. 3 If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? 4 But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.

Romans 5:1-2 NIV

1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.

Farewell to Pastor Matt & his family

This is Matt's final Sunday with us. He recently accepted the position of Worship Pastor at Pathways Christian Church in Santee, California (near San Diego). In many ways, this is a move “home” for the Odegaards. Matt and Bethany both grew up in California and have family and friends there. Their children Maddie (10), Nico (9), Tyler (7), and Hunter (5) will have great opportunities to spend time with grand-parents, aunts, uncles, and friends. Pray for Matt, Bethany, and their family as they make this transition from Hopevale to Pathways. And be sure to express your appreciation to them for their ministry among us at Hopevale, either by greeting them in the lobby today or by sending them a note through our church office.
