Creation -> Fall -> Redemption
Creation is good
Creation is our home
Creation tells us the meaning of life
Genesis 1:27 NIV
27 So God created mankind in his own image,in the image of God he created them;male and female he created them.
Why Am I Here?
Love God (Matthew 22:36-40)
Serve Others (Genesis 1:27; Matthew 16:24)
Responsibly cultivate the earth (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:15)
Matthew 22:36-40 NIV
36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Matthew 16:24 NIV
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.
Genesis 1:26-28 NIV
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27 So God created mankind in his own image,in the image of God he created them;male and female he created them. 28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
Genesis 2:15 NIV
15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
Every Christian is called (Galatians 5:13)
Every calling counts (Colossians 3:23-24)
Our most important callings are unpaid (Church, Family)
Galatians 5:13 NIV
13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
Colossians 3:23-24 NIV
23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
Colossians 2:9-10 NIV
9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 NIV
11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, 12 so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.
Colossians 3:17 NIV
17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
