Topic: Sunday Message Verse: 2 Corinthians 8:9, 1 Timothy 6:17–6:19
Some of the most memorable moments in movies and books are when the unexpected happens. These moments take our breath away, and leave us in a state of shock. These small surprises can significantly shift these stories into new, interesting, and even dark places. What if there were things in our lives that seemed small but that could surprisingly shift our stories?
Generosity is not a NATURAL thing...it's a LEARNED thing.
2 Corinthians 8:9 NIV
9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.
Generosity is at the HEART of the gospel of Jesus.
1 Timothy 6:17-19 NIV
17 Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 18 Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 19 In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.
An annual salary of $32,400 is in the top 1% of wage earners IN THE WORLD.
We don't need to know how to feel rich...we need to know how to BE RICH.
Generosity is not about money...it's about a way of living!
HOW TO BE RICH
1. Don't put your ope in yourself or wealth
2. Be generous with your works
3. Be generous with your wealth
