A seven-week series about entering into and experiencing more of the LIFE that only Jesus gives
LIFE with Jesus, LIFE with People, LIFE with Purpose
Jesus came, died, and rose again so that we could enter into LIFE and experience that LIFE to its fullest. It begins with Him. From this foundation, we are called to experience this LIFE with other people because we were never meant to live alone. As we love Jesus and love people, we’re led into LIFE with true purpose, which comes when we live for something bigger than ourselves.
LIFE with Purpose
Not only does God give us spiritual gifts to serve others in the church, but He also sends us out to love our neighbor near and far.
Love Your Neighbor Near AND Far
We are a “small c” local church called to bring Jesus’ LIFE & love to our own community while also playing our part in the “BIG C” Church to help advance His Kingdom around the world.
Acts 1:8-9 NIV
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” 9 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
Genesis 12:2-3 NIV
2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you;I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you,and whoever curses you I will curse;and all peoples on earthwill be blessed through you.”
1 Samuel 17:46 NIV
46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.
Psalms 67:1-3 NIV
1 May God be gracious to us and bless usand make his face shine on us— 2 so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. 3 May the peoples praise you, God;may all the peoples praise you.
Five Global Outreach Filters
We want to build upon our church's rich missions heritage as we build new and on-going partnerships with ministries to the end of the world (Acts 1:8).
1.TARGET (area w/ low % of Christians)
2. NEED (direct Gospel influence)
3. PARTNERSHIP (ways to get involved)
4. LEGACY (hand off ministry to locals)
5. ACCOUNTABILITY (fit & transparency)
Romans 10:13-15 NIV
13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
Romans 15:20-21 NIV
20 It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation. 21 Rather, as it is written:“Those who were not told about him will see,and those who have not heard will understand.”

John 10:10 NIV
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Revelation 7:9-10 NIV
9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice:“Salvation belongs to our God,who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
Sermon Questions for Discussion
1. Which Book of the Bible do you turn to the most? Explain.
2. Why does the church exist according to Acts 4:32-35 and James 1:27? How are we called to respond by putting “feet to our faith”?
3. What do these verses show us about God’s heart for every nation on earth? What can keep us from having God’s heart and perspective on the world?
1 John 4:14
4. Share one BIG takeaway you have gained from this LIFE Series. How much do you feel that you’re personally experiencing LIFE in Jesus? LIFE with People? LIFE with Purpose?
5. Go to hopevale.org/sermonquestions (after 4 pm, Sunday, October 27) and choose a question or questions to discuss.
